A Quick Observation
During my travels through northern Mississippi, I have noticed quite a few pickup trucks on the road and in parking lots. In fact, as a percentage of total vehicles, I would guess 70% are pickup trucks.
I would like to be able to haul things. However, I am unsure that a pickup would be conducive to transporting a 14-month-old in a rear-facing carseat.

That, sir, is why you get the extended cab pickup -- two rows of seats. Or you can get a rope and tie Emily down in the truck bed. As she grows up, you can move her the chaise lounge; that's a great look down here in the south.
Silly-The kids ride in the bed with the dogs and the baby between Pa and Me. All good old country boys have trucks. They are good for hunting, fishing & such.
One other thing, Emily is supposed to drive while you drink your beer!
Two words: roof rack.
That's why most new trucks have the airbag cut-off switch on the passenger side...or so I hope all parents are doing if they insist on having their offspring ride in trucks.
You think it's bad in my home state of Mississippi? You should go to Texas.
And those of us that are enlightened know that you don't have to have a truck as long as you know someone with a truck!
