Rosebud, My Ass

"Citizen Kane" leads "Godfather" in movie poll.

Also, we should all be relieved that there is no truth to the rumors that The Jerky Boys Movie made the list.

I read that the availability of older movies to view by younger audiences shifted the standings.

Until they put "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" on these list - I'm just refusing to read them.

Citizen Kane is strictly broccoli at this point. It's really good and stuff, but you admire it, you don't really enjoy it.

I think my vote for #1 for a list like this would be Vertigo.

And actually I need to find a new way of saying "something good for you that doesn't taste good." I really like broccoli...

OL: I read the same thing (though, of course, Citizen Kane was ranked #1 before, as well).

KK: You just might be onto something!

Rob: Soooo true. Those putting C.K. at #1 are the same types that rank Sgt. Pepper's #1 on album lists. And, I suppose that satisfies at least one definition of "greatest" or "best." It just doesn't mean they are the most watchable and/or listenable today!

See, child, you're too young to understand how Sgt. Pepper revolutionized the music industry. For you, it's an album that's been around all your life. For one who was living when it was released, you can't help but understand its brilliance and staying power.

But old fogeys, "influence" is only one factor in judging "greatness"! Sgt. Pepper's is and will always be brilliant in my book, but Revolver is the better listen!
