Neil Young Still Rocks

I know I haven't posted an album review in ages. I haven't had much time to listen to music, other than my commutes to/from work. And, I've been spending nearly 100% of that listening time on b**tleg recordings from Neil Young's recent European Tour.

As I pulled into the parking deck this morning, the acoustic set from London on 5-March-2008 was just finishing. The closing trio of songs (solo-acoustic versions of "Don't Let It Bring You Down," "Cowgirl In The Sand" and "Old Man") was an absolute killer.

These recordings are so good, it's really quite stunning. And, Neil has been on fire. He really seems to thrive in this format (50-60 minute solo-acoustic set, followed by a 75-85 minute electric set). And, I'm totally digging the band (Rick "The Bass Player" Rosas, Ralph Molina, and god-of-all-trades Ben Keith).

So, I'll try to post about a favorite album again soon. In the meantime, KEEP ON ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD...

Good heavens! I thought that was an April Fool's joke!

I still have an unused Best Buy gift card from Christmas. Looks like I need to put it to good use...

Thanks for keping my locked-in-my-office ass informed.

I'm sending you the MP3s now, buddy boy — but you have to purchase it if you love the songs.

I am feeling your office pain, BTW. I'm miserable at my desk these days — maybe because I just turned 49 and no longer want to work long hours. Where's the lotto win when you need it?

Wah, Wah......

Take a hit, turn it up and blow your mind!

Time's a waistin'.

If Neil Young can still do it, I'm fairly certain that all of us can put one foot in front of the other!
