History's Greatest Moustaches, Vol. III
Adolph Hitler sported this thick tuft of hair directly below the nose. His goal was world dominance and the eradication of all Jews. Instead, he basically just succeeded in ruining the name "Hitler" and this particular moustache trim for all future generations.

You asshole, no one is going to comment on a post about Adolph Hitler, even if it is just a post about his moustache.
Hey, haahnster, you're right on target, I'm afraid.
Maybe I should have an "inner dialogue," but post my thoughts as comments.
Great idea, haahnster, you lame-o.
Now, people will see you're just desperate to drum up attention for your ridiculous post. You should issue an apology for posting Hitler's picture in the first place.
Fuck that. I'm not apologizing. It is a famous moustache, after all.
Do you really think anyone is going to read these comments? People don't want to touch a post about Hitler.
You're sullying the blogosphere.
PS - This "History's Greatest Moustaches" is pathetic. Why don't you just give it up already?!?
Best. Moustache. Ever!
Ok, that one above was me. I just thought this thread needed an anonymous vote of support for Hitler. I mean, just to get it out of the way, if nothing else.
It is a great moustache, though one that is unlikely to be seen again (for obvious reasons).
Reminds me of some old comedy I saw where Martin Mull played a character named Skip Hittler. He always introduced himself as "Skip Hittler, two t's."

(Check out the entry on Merle Allin. Work-safe, but be aware)
Found the above when looking for photos of Ron Mael of Sparks. He's the most recent Hitler (or "toothbrush") moustache exponent that I could think of, though it would go back to the 70's. Here's a page with a decent photo.

Thanks for the links...excellent as always. I'd totally forgotten that Chaplin had the same 'stache! Also, I was unaware of the name "toothbrush moustache."
I love this line from the Wikipedia article, "The style is now unpopular due to its strong association with Hitler." [I think I hear Butthead, Uh...oh yeah...]
A better moustache here.
And I'm sorry, dear Haahnster, he who feels it necessary to comment himself, that it took me so long to get here.
Nice kitty pictures. And, don't worry, it (the self-commenting) was a little experiment I'd been meaning to try.
